Sony Confirms Nine Titles Leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium on August 18

Sony has confirmed that nine games will leave the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog on August 18, 2026. The departing titles are Bomber Crew, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, Onee Chanbara Origin, Roki, Space Crew: Legendary Edition, Dead Island 2, Earth Defense Force 6, Harold Halibut, and Unicorn Overlord (Engadget).
Five of those nine — Bomber Crew, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, Onee Chanbara Origin, Roki, and Space Crew: Legendary Edition — were originally scheduled to depart in July 2026 but had their availability extended through August. Sony did not provide a reason for the extension.
The removal window follows a familiar pattern for the subscription service. Earlier in July, twelve titles left the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog, with a departure date of July 21 (IGN). Those July departures were confirmed by Sony on June 16, 2026, through the "Last Chance to Play" section of the PS Plus app on PS5 (Tech Times). Risk of Rain was among the titles listed for that July exit (IGN). In the same window, Sony added Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy (listed as Psi-Ops Classic) to the catalog (Tech Times).
The August 18 removal date applies to all nine listed games across both the Extra and Premium tiers of the service. Engadget attributed the departure confirmation to Sony but noted that no specific PlayStation Blog post accompanied the list; the article's only PlayStation Blog link points to the July 2026 incoming Game Catalog announcement rather than a dedicated "leaving soon" post (Engadget).
Harold Halibut, one of the nine departing titles, entered the PS Plus Game Catalog in August 2025, announced via the PlayStation Blog on August 13, 2025 (PlayStation Blog). It was also featured on the Official PlayStation Podcast Episode 521, published August 15, 2025, where it was listed for PS5 alongside Coral Island for PS5 and Resident Evil 2 under the Premium tier (PlayStation Blog). Prior to its PS Plus inclusion, Harold Halibut appeared among discounted titles in the Days of Play 2025 sale on the PlayStation Store, announced May 27, 2025 (PlayStation Blog).
The catalog rotation is a structural feature of the PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers. Games cycle in and out on a roughly monthly cadence, with departures typically clustered around the middle of each month. Subscribers retain access to departed titles only if they purchase them separately from the PlayStation Store; active subscriptions do not confer ownership.
For subscribers tracking what to play before the August 18 cutoff, the priority list is straightforward. Dead Island 2, Earth Defense Force 6, and Unicorn Overlord are the highest-profile departures, all relatively recent full-price releases that joined the catalog within the past year. The five titles carried over from July's originally scheduled departure list have now had roughly one additional month of availability, giving latecomers a final window to finish or sample them.
