Google's New Pixel 11 Phones: What They Cost and What You Get
Google announced four new phones on August 12, 2026 — the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. You can preorder any of them right now, and they ship August 20 (The Verge).
Every model costs more than last year's equivalent. The basic Pixel 11 starts at $899 for 256GB of storage, up $100 from the Pixel 10's $799 starting price. The Pixel 11 Pro starts at $1,099 (256GB), with 512GB at $1,219 and 1TB at $1,449. The Pixel 11 Pro XL starts at $1,299 (256GB), $1,419 (512GB), and $1,649 (1TB). The Pixel 11 Pro Fold, a phone that opens into a tablet-sized screen, tops the range at $1,899. For comparison, the Pixel 9 Pro XL started at $1,099 in 2024, and the Pixel 10 Pro XL at $1,199 in 2025. That model has gone up $200 in two years.
Ars Technica predicted the $899 base price in July, noting it would be a $100 increase from the previous year (Ars Technica). Android Authority also reported that every new Pixel announced on August 12 was expected to get a price bump (Android Authority).
All four phones use Google's new Tensor G6 processor — the chip that acts as the phone's brain. Google says it makes web browsing 25 percent faster and apps open 15 percent faster than the previous chip. The base Pixel 11 comes with 12GB of RAM (the memory that helps the phone juggle multiple apps) and a 6.3-inch screen that adjusts how smoothly it scrolls depending on what you're doing, up to 120 times per second. It also gets bright enough — up to 2,000 nits — to stay readable in direct sunlight.
The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL are the same phone in different sizes, with different battery sizes too. Both have a 50-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel telephoto camera that can zoom in 5 times without losing detail, a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera, and a 42-megapixel front camera for selfies. The 256GB versions come with 12GB of RAM, while the 512GB and 1TB versions get 16GB. They come in four colors: canyon, fog, olive, and obsidian.
A new camera feature called Magic Capture automatically picks out the best moments from a long video and stitches them together into a short highlight clip. All four phones also have bigger batteries than before, with fast charging and wireless charging up to 25 watts.
Google also announced the Pixel Watch 5, which comes in two sizes: 41mm at $399 and 45mm at $429. To encourage people to buy the watch, Google is offering preorder gift cards: $100 with the Pixel 11, $200 with the Pro and Pro XL, and $350 with the Pro Fold. You can put that gift card toward a Pixel Watch 5 and get an extra $50 off. The smaller Pixel Watch 5 is free if you preorder the Pro Fold. The gift card offer ends August 27 at the Google Store; Best Buy and Amazon did not say when their offers end.
Google is throwing in six months of Google AI Pro (normally a $119 subscription) with Pixel 11 Pro purchases (Google Store). That fits with Google's push to connect its devices together. In May, the company launched Googlebook laptops designed to work hand-in-hand with Android phones through a system called Gemini Intelligence (Google Blog). The Fitbit Air, a $99.99 fitness tracker that opened for preorder the same month, extends that same family of devices further (Google Blog).
The broader context here is that Pixel prices have been climbing steadily while the big new features have become more incremental. The base Pixel cost $699 in 2023. Three generations later, it's $899. The Pro XL has gone from $1,099 to $1,299 over the same stretch. Google is cushioning those increases with bundles — gift cards, free watches, AI subscriptions — rather than keeping prices flat. Whether shoppers see that as a fair tradeoff will become clear once the phones hit shelves on August 20.
