The price is still $2,200. Snap did not show a new device. It showed more things the current glasses can do.

For everyday users, Specs can now connect with HBO Max and Spotify. Snap did not explain the controls in detail. The connection puts video and sound straight into the glasses, so people do not have to pick up a phone to keep watching or listening.

Snap also launched Specs Intelligence. It is described as an anticipatory AI system, which means software that tries to help before you ask. It works with Specs and with devices people already own, including iPhones and Macs. The work is shared between the glasses and the phone or computer.

Snap also announced Specs for Enterprise, a version meant for work tasks. It named Amazon, Salesforce and Nvidia as partners. The plan is for the glasses to work inside normal business systems, supported by large cloud services, customer-tracking software and fast AI chips, not only as a tool for developers.

Snap added a basketball training app built with the NBA and WNBA to practice and improve shooting. It uses on-screen coaching tips and shot feedback. It fits glasses you wear because your hands stay free and your eyes stay up, like directions floating in front of you.

The basic features were set at launch. Specs can show maps, alerts and games, and give AI-powered help. Inside, the 2026 Specs use Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR chip platform, the processor that runs the device. Reuters While getting ready for the public launch, Snap introduced Snap OS 2.0 with a new UI Kit and Mobile Kit, toolkits for building glasses apps and linking phone apps. Snap said in January 2026 it would place the glasses in a separate company unit to bring in outside investment. Reuters It had said in June 2025 it would sell its first smart glasses to all consumers in 2026 to compete with Meta in wearables. Reuters Separately, Snap won a U.S. trademark ruling for 'Spectacles' in September 2024. The ruling found the word descriptive for smart glasses, letting Snap register it in some cases. Reuters

In my view, this is a familiar split. At $2,200, the glasses remain costly for most buyers and for daily use. For businesses, cost matters less when hands-free help solves a clear job.

The broader context here is simple. Snap wants eyes up and phones left in pockets. I have watched my own two children ignore features that take effort and keep only what fits into routine. If these glasses can quietly offer maps and reminders by borrowing power from phones people already carry, they have a chance to become useful in daily and work life.
