Big Tech Meeting Adds Smaller Get-Togethers Around It

TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 will happen October 13-15 at Moscone West in San Francisco. Organizers shared a first list of side events on September 17. Those smaller gatherings run October 11-14. TechCrunch
You can no longer apply to host a side event. The final deadline was September 11 at 11:59 p.m. PT. TechCrunch
Two side events are listed for Sunday, October 11. "Happy Hour with AI-Created Drinks by AI Barmen" runs 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. "EPIC SF Demo Night @ Finding Next Moat," with ten young startups, runs 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
One event is listed for October 12. NMI will host "Serve, Swipe, & Settle: Mixer for SaaS leaders scaling into embedded payments" from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. PT. It is for subscription software companies that want to add payment tools inside their own products.
Three evening events overlap on October 14. Backblaze and Flamethrower will host "The Afterburn: TechCrunch Disrupt Edition" from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. PT. PeakXV Partners will host "Ecosystem Mixer" from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. PT. Augment and Mintz will host "Liquid Assets: A Private Markets Cocktail Party" from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. PT.
Side events happen outside the main Moscone West program. They include rooftop mixers, breakfast meetups, and pitch nights. TechCrunch Hosts run their own sign-ups. You do not use the main conference pass to attend.
The broader context here is like a big class with small study groups. You can watch the big talks later. You cannot replay a small chat. Builders often learn more in those small rooms, on hands-on topics like payments, computer systems, and buying and selling shares in private companies.
In my view, the early list fits that pattern. The payments and private-shares events are for different workers. The demo night helps people find startups and hires. The mixers keep work contacts fresh. This does not replace testing a product, but it helps you find the right person faster.
Looking ahead at travel and what this enables, timing counts. October 11 is two days before Disrupt. October 12 is the night before it opens. October 14 overlaps with the main week. That wider spread gives visitors more chances for a useful meeting.
