Lauren Bennett, a British singer best known for her voice on LMFAO's 2011 hit song "Party Rock Anthem," died on July 6, 2026, at age 37. No cause of death has been announced. Her former band G.R.L. shared the news on Instagram, saying in a statement that her "spirit was beautiful" and that their "hearts are broken."

Bennett was born in Meopham, Kent, and got her start in music like many British pop singers: by auditioning for The X Factor. She made it to the final 12 before being eliminated. Instead of giving up, she moved to Los Angeles at 17 and joined a girl group called Paradiso Girls. In 2009, the group released a song called "Patron Tequila" that became popular on dance radio.

Bennett became widely known through "Party Rock Anthem." The song was everywhere in 2011—on dance clubs, radio, and beyond. That success opened doors for her career.

She then joined G.R.L., a five-member girl group. The group had hits like "Ugly Heart," which charted well in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Around 2014, they appeared on Pitbull's song "Wild Wild Love." By the mid-2010s, G.R.L. was performing internationally and building a solid fan base.

But tragedy struck. Another member of G.R.L., Simone Battle, died in 2016. The remaining members released a tribute song called "Lighthouse" and worked with a mental health charity called Give an Hour. The group came back together briefly in 2020 as a four-piece, but didn't stay together long after that.

Bennett's death is the second major loss for the group in ten years. For a group of five, losing two members changes everything about who they are.
