Lovable Raises $400M Series C at $13.3B Valuation, Doubling Since December

Lovable has confirmed a $400 million Series C round at a $13.3 billion valuation, eight months after its previous raise. The round was led by Menlo Ventures and the Scaleup Europe Fund, with more than a dozen additional investors participating, according to TechCrunch.
The valuation doubles the $6.6 billion Lovable commanded in December, when it raised $330 million led by Menlo Ventures with CapitalG as co-lead. Menlo Ventures' return as lead investor in successive rounds signals sustained conviction from at least one major backer as the company's capital needs have escalated.
The company told TechCrunch it hit $500 million in annualized run rate revenue in June. That figure provides the clearest benchmark for evaluating the $13.3 billion valuation: a multiple of roughly 26x ARR, which is steep by enterprise SaaS norms but not unusual in the current wave of AI-native companies where growth velocity commands premium pricing.
Lovable says it hosts 60 million projects that attract 900 million monthly visitors. The scale of that footprint places it among the most heavily trafficked AI-built application platforms, though the company has not disclosed what proportion of those projects are active, monetized, or retained beyond initial creation. The gap between raw project counts and revenue-bearing usage is a standard question for platforms in this category, and one investors are presumably weighing.
The company offers both its own in-house trained AI model and frontier model options, giving it a hybrid approach that reduces single-vendor dependency on any one foundation model provider while preserving the option to route to frontier capabilities when its proprietary model is insufficient for a given task. This dual-track strategy has become increasingly common among AI application-layer companies that need to balance inference cost, latency, and output quality.
In June, Lovable signed a multiyear deal with Google Cloud representing a fivefold increase in usage. The arrangement locks in infrastructure capacity at a time when compute availability and pricing for AI inference workloads remain a competitive variable. The deal also deepens Lovable's entanglement with a single hyperscaler, a common trade-off for companies whose compute requirements are growing faster than their ability to negotiate across multiple providers.
One of the new Series C investors is Regent, the investment firm that also owns TechCrunch. This is worth noting plainly: the outlet reporting on the round shares a corporate parent with a participant in that round. The disclosure is standard practice, and the conflict is structural rather than concealed, but readers should weigh the reporting accordingly.
Beyond its own operations, Lovable has backed other European startups, including Danish startup Atech, which builds vibe-coding software for designing tech hardware. The investment activity suggests Lovable is positioning itself as something of a platform ecosystem player rather than a single-product company, using its capital to seed adjacent tooling that could extend its reach into hardware design workflows.
A customer story published on Lovable's blog in February 2025 described a team that used Lovable's AI to build a financial wellness platform featuring real-time budgeting, personalized investment recommendations, and backend/UI integrations. The case study illustrates the company's positioning as an end-to-end application builder rather than a code-generation assistant, which is a meaningful distinction in the AI development tools market.
The broader context worth considering: Lovable's trajectory from a $6.6 billion valuation in December to $13.3 billion in August, paired with $500 million in ARR, places it in a narrow tier of AI application companies where revenue growth is keeping pace with, if not fully justifying, valuation expansion. The 2x valuation multiple against a 2x revenue trajectory (assuming the June ARR figure is up from a lower base at the December round) is, in this author's view, a more rational ratio than some of the multiples seen in the 2023-2024 AI funding cycle, though the absolute dollar figures remain large.
The company's ability to deploy both proprietary and frontier models, lock in Google Cloud capacity, and invest in adjacent European startups suggests it is building toward platform-level positioning rather than competing solely on the quality of its AI-generated code. Whether that breadth translates into durable competitive advantage, or whether it dilutes focus at a stage when execution speed matters most, is the question the next twelve months will answer.
