CAD-based renders identified as a first look at the Google Pixel 11A have surfaced via OnLeaks and Android Headlines. The Verge

The images depict a device almost indistinguishable from the Pixel 10A and Pixel 9A, aside from the rear camera housing. The module retains the horizontal pill form used on recent A-series phones, but with a slightly rounder oval profile. Front profile, side rails, button placement and overall proportions appear unchanged in the leak.

The display treatment also carries over. The renders show chunky bezels around the panel with a centered hole-punch camera, consistent with its two predecessors. Renders alone provide no confirmed change to panel size, materials or finish.

The reported internal change concerns the processor. The Pixel 11A is reported to use Google's Tensor G6 chip, after the Pixel 9A and Pixel 10A both used Tensor G4.

Color and schedule details accompanied the leak. The phone is reported in four colors: black, silver, green and purple. It is expected to be officially unveiled in Spring 2026. The device was first reported under the codename "Formosan". Android Headlines

The broader context here is cadence rather than industrial design. When an exterior stays stable across three A-series generations, tooling, cases, repair workflows and accessory fit get a longer life. That continuity keeps bill-of-materials pressure down and lets engineering effort concentrate on silicon, firmware and camera tuning.

In my view, that tradeoff fits the A-series brief. Buyers in this tier tend to weigh sustained performance, battery behavior under load, computational photography output and update lifetime more heavily than a new silhouette each year. A familiar housing paired with a newer SoC addresses those variables directly without resetting manufacturing.

Looking at what this means for software, a Tensor G6 in the entry tier would narrow the gap between flagship and midrange build targets. For developers shipping on-device ML features, camera pipelines and power-sensitive workloads, that matters. Shared headroom across tiers simplifies testing matrices and feature flags, and allows more capable local inference to reach a wider installed base. Worth flagging: renders do not establish clocks, memory configuration, modem or sensor choices, so the extent of that convergence should be treated as plausible rather than promised.

The bezels will draw comment. They keep the panel assembly in a known yield and cost window, and they aid durability at a price point where repair cost matters. I have watched my own children ignore bezels entirely once a phone enters daily use, a useful reminder that spec-sheet criticism and lived use often diverge.

No new silhouette here. If the spring timeline holds, the Pixel 11A arrives as an iteration. The newsworthy shift is inside, and over the long arc that is where midrange phones have gained the most.
