Ryan Gosling Gala Off as American Cinematheque Skips 2026 Event

Ryan Gosling will not take his seat at the Beverly Hilton this autumn.
The American Cinematheque said its 40th annual American Cinematheque Awards Gala honouring Gosling will not take place in 2026 after the actor became unavailable because of scheduling conflicts, Deadline reported.
The tribute ceremony, a fundraising dinner where the non-profit presents its annual screen honour, had been set for 2 November at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, according to the same report. The organisation had named Gosling as its pick for the award in June 2026.
It is a straight pause, not a replacement. The group said it will stage the Awards Gala next in 2027 with a new honoree, Deadline reported.
Gosling, who stars in 'Project Hail Mary', was announced as the 2026 recipient earlier in the summer, The Hollywood Reporter reported. That June announcement had locked in the November date and the hotel ballroom.
For fans, this means a wait. There will be no red carpet line-up this year and no acceptance speech to clip and share. The next edition will come with a fresh name attached.
Award-season calendars move fast. Dates are claimed early, talent availability shifts, and a single clash can pull a whole evening off the board. Here the clash left organisers with little room to recast the night.
