Google Is Emailing Discount Codes for the New Pixel Phone — Here Is What to Know

Google has started emailing discount codes to people who might buy its upcoming Pixel 11 phone, with savings ranging from $100 to $250 depending on who receives them. The codes are timed to line up with Google's Pixel 11 launch event on August 12, 2026. Engadget

The campaign was first spotted on August 11, when 9to5Google reported receiving a $150 code by email. Since then, other people have confirmed receiving codes worth $100, $200, and $250. Google has sent codes to people outside the United States as well. The Google Store's Pixel 11 page says pre-orders open on August 12.

If you have not received a code, the Google Store's Pixel 11 banner has a "Sign up" button that puts you on a list for news, offers, and reminders. The codes come with some rules: they may not be combined with other discount codes, and they may not be given to anyone else.

The expected Pixel 11 lineup includes a base Pixel 11, two Pro models in different sizes, and a foldable phone. Google was also expected to announce a new smartwatch at the same event.

Google already runs a range of promotions around Pixel phones. Its Pixel Referral Program gives you 10% off a phone and $50 in store credit when a friend buys through your referral. The Google Store also offers 10% off to customers who verify their identity through ID.me, a service that confirms things like military or first-responder status. Regional Google stores have their own deals: Ireland's store offered a €100 discount on the Pixel 10 with code P10SUMMER100 from July 22 through August 11, 2026, and India's store listed a ₹5,000 discount on the Pixel 10 starting June 1, 2026.

The detail worth pausing on is that Google is not offering the same discount to everyone. Instead, it is sending different amounts to different people, from $100 up to $250. That gap suggests Google is picking who gets what based on something it knows about each person, such as what they have bought before or how long they have had their account. Google has not said how it decides. Because Google collects and analyses large amounts of data about its users, tailoring discounts to each person is well within what the company can do.

The question this raises is whether people will start to expect personalised discounts, and whether some will feel it is unfair that someone else got a bigger code. Google has offered pre-order discounts before, so the idea is not new. What is different this time is the range and the fact that codes are sent individually. A flat $100 credit is easy for a competitor to match. A $250 code sent only to certain customers is much harder for a rival to counter, because the rival has no way of knowing who got what. The programme works as a way to keep specific customers loyal, not just to drive sales.

If you are planning to pre-order a Pixel 11, the practical step is to check your email, including your spam folder, for a code before you buy. If nothing showed up, the sign-up button on the Google Store's Pixel 11 page is the way to get on the list. And if you already qualify for the ID.me discount or have a referral credit, check whether those can be combined with an emailed code, since Google's terms suggest they might not stack.
