EA Sports FC 26 Is Coming to Xbox Game Pass on June 18

EA Sports FC 26, one of the year's most popular football games, will be available on Xbox Game Pass starting June 18, 2026, according to Xbox. If you have a Game Pass subscription — whether you play on console, PC, or through cloud streaming on your phone or browser — you'll get access without paying extra for the game itself.

Game Pass is a subscription service that works like Netflix for video games. You pay a monthly fee and get access to a library of games, rather than buying each one individually. EA Sports FC 26 is being added as part of this library.

The game will arrive through EA Play, which is bundled into the most popular Game Pass plan (Game Pass Ultimate). This means Microsoft isn't paying the full cost to include it the way they would with a game made by their own studios. Instead, EA controls which of its games show up in Game Pass, and both companies benefit from the arrangement.

This follows the same pattern from two years ago. EA Sports FC 24 was added to Game Pass in June 2024, roughly around the time when FC 25 was coming out. EA appears to be following an annual rhythm: once a new football game launches, the previous year's version moves into the subscription service. FC 26 fits that schedule.

For subscribers, the practical benefit is straightforward: you can play EA's football simulation on your console, PC, or through cloud streaming on other devices without buying the game separately. Cloud streaming means you can play on a phone or tablet through your web browser, which opens the game to people who don't own an Xbox.

The broader context here is that sports games like FC 26 keep people playing and engaged for months, which matters to Microsoft. Players spend time on the game, which makes the monthly subscription feel valuable to them. Meanwhile, EA benefits too. Players who might not have paid full price for the game still spend money on in-game purchases and special items once they start playing. The subscription entry point and the in-game spending are designed to work together, not against each other.

June 2026 will see several other games added to Game Pass as well. There's a space exploration game called Astroneer Expeditions, a cooking game called Beastro, a boxing game called Undisputed, and the Batman: Arkham Knight, which came out over a decade ago but is still well-regarded. Game Pass deliberately mixes big, well-known titles with smaller or older games to keep the library feeling fresh and valuable to different kinds of players. FC 26 is the big draw this month.

Whether EA will continue adding new football games to Game Pass every year is unclear. Both companies will need to feel like the deal works for them financially. For now, the confirmed date is June 18, and anything beyond that remains a future business decision between Microsoft and EA.
