Trump's Social Media Company Now Sells Real-Time Post Data to Wall Street

On July 16, 2026, Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) launched something called the Truth API. It's a paid service that lets businesses see posts on Truth Social the instant they go up (Reuters).

TMTG says the Truth API is the fastest way to get Truth Social post data for business use (Yahoo Finance). The main customers they're going after are financial services firms. Institutional access — meaning access for large professional firms — is scheduled to open in August 2026 (MSN).

The target buyers are high-frequency trading firms. These are companies that use computer programs to buy and sell stocks in fractions of a second. Think of it like a race: whoever sees a piece of news first can make a trade before the price changes. TMTG is putting this product in the same space as data services from Bloomberg, Refinitiv, and Benzinga (MSN). Reuters confirms the feed is designed for financial services partners specifically (Reuters).

The feed sends posts to trading firms' computers the moment they appear, rather than on a delay (Investing.com). The idea is straightforward: a post from the right account can move a stock price, a whole sector, or the broader market within seconds. If a trading firm gets that post even a fraction of a second before its competitors, it can trade first and profit.

Truth Social is TMTG's social media platform. It operates alongside Truth+, a streaming service, and Truth.Fi, a financial services brand TMTG plans to launch (tmtgcorp.com). TMTG says its mission is to end what it calls Big Tech's assault on free speech by opening up the Internet (tmtgcorp.com).

The Truth API connects two parts of TMTG's business. The social platform creates the posts. The financial services brand shows TMTG wants to move into that space. The API turns the posts into a product sold to the customers who care most about speed.

The key question for anyone watching this is whether Truth Social posts actually move markets enough to be worth paying for. That depends on who uses the platform and which accounts post things that affect stock prices. Reuters reports that TMTG is selling the product based on speed, which is the standard way companies compete in this field. But TMTG has not said how much the service costs, how fast it actually is in technical terms, or what guarantees it offers.

When institutional access opens in August 2026, we'll get a real test. Similar data feeds in the trading world compete on three things: raw speed, how well they turn messy posts into clear trading signals, and how many sources they cover. Truth API only covers one platform, so it probably can't stand alone. But it could work as an add-on for firms that already track multiple social media platforms for trading clues.

TMTG has not said which Truth Social accounts will be available through the API or whether different accounts cost different amounts. The company also has not said whether Truth API will connect to Truth.Fi's financial products once that brand launches. What is confirmed: the feed is live, large firms can sign up starting in August 2026, and the target buyers are computer-driven trading firms.

In my view, this is a real shift for TMTG. Instead of making money from ads — which depends on getting lots of users — the company is selling data to professional firms. Whether this works at scale depends on whether trading firms actually want Truth Social data badly enough to pay for it, and whether TMTG can deliver the speed and reliability those firms demand.
