Sharon Stone and John Stamos to Be Honoured at The Creative Coalition's Humanitarian Awards
Sharon Stone and John Stamos will receive top honours at The Creative Coalition's Humanitarian Awards Dinner on Thursday, September 10 in Los Angeles, Variety reported on August 10.
The dinner takes place at Second Home, a venue on Hollywood Boulevard formerly known as The Bourbon Room, with a red carpet and honouree reception starting at 7:00 PM, according to The Creative Coalition's official event page. Variety senior culture and events editor Marc Malkin will host the evening for the fourth consecutive year.
The Creative Coalition, an arts advocacy organisation active since 1989, uses the awards to recognise members of the entertainment community who have made an impact through leadership, community and important causes. All proceeds from the dinner support the organisation's year-round advocacy work, which includes campaigns to protect the National Endowment for the Arts for fiscal year 2027 and public health initiatives such as a COVID-19 vaccine facts campaign.
Stone is being honoured for her work as Global Campaign Chair of amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research, where she has helped raise millions of dollars for HIV/AIDS research. An Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated actor, she is known for roles in Basic Instinct, The Practice and Euphoria. The Creative Coalition's event page also credits her as a Golden Globe winner.
Stamos, an Emmy-nominated star of Palm Royale and Full House, is recognised for serving as a Childhelp ambassador and creating the St. Amos jewelry collection, which supports programmes helping survivors of child abuse.
Creative Coalition president Tim Daly issued a statement praising the honourees for using their influence to improve lives, strengthen communities and create opportunities for others, Variety reported. Robin Bronk serves as CEO of the organisation.
Four additional honourees round out the evening. Simran Baidwan is a writer and executive producer on The Pitt. Cara Buono is an actor known for Stranger Things and Mad Men. Lisa Ann Walter stars in Abbott Elementary. Mary Lou Belli is a director and executive producer of The Ms. Pat Show. Their associated causes include the Stay in LA initiative, Liberty United and the Kids In Need Foundation's Supply Ride initiative.
For an organisation that also produces podcasts like Hollywood At Home and runs programmes supporting family caregivers, the dinner is one of its most visible public moments of the year — a night that puts the spotlight on what happens when people in the entertainment industry channel their platforms toward causes beyond the screen.
