Davy Litten to Leave Hull FC for Wakefield Trinity on Four-Year Deal
Hull FC centre Davy Litten will join Super League rivals Wakefield Trinity at the end of the 2026 season after agreeing a four-year contract.
The 23-year-old submitted a transfer request, prompting Hull FC to accept what the club described as a "significant six-figure transfer fee" from Trinity (BBC Sport). Wakefield confirmed the signing on their own website, describing the fee as "substantial" but declining to disclose the exact figure (Wakefield Trinity). For Litten, the move carries a certain circularity. He made his senior debut for Hull FC on 19 August 2022, coming off the bench in an 18–26 home defeat to Wakefield Trinity — the very club he will now call home (Hull FC). That day, injuries to Connor Wynne and Joe Lovodua forced Hull into changes, handing a teenager his first taste of first-grade rugby league. The Super League is England's top tier of rugby league — the 13-a-side code where teams have six tackles to advance the ball before handing over possession.
Litten's path to that debut began in Hull FC's youth system. He was a Hull FC College student before earning an academy contract at 17 through the club's Centre of Excellence, a development pathway for promising teenagers (Hull FC). From there he graduated to the senior squad, where he has established himself as a centre — a midfield position responsible both for defending the channel outside the halves (the playmakers) and for carrying the ball into the defensive line in attack.
