Fabien Frankel to Star in and Produce 'Love Unlimited', Olivier Huband's Directorial Debut
Fabien Frankel, known to millions as Ser Criston Cole on HBO's House of the Dragon, will star in and executive-produce Love Unlimited, a short drama marking the writing and directing debut of actor Olivier Huband. Variety reported the project on 11 August 2026.
The film follows two old friends — Max, played by Frankel, and Gabriel, played by Huband — who unknowingly spend a final four days together at Max's house in the South of France. Production is slated to begin in September in the Pyrenees, the mountain range straddling France and Spain.
Behind the camera, the project pairs two sibling-run production banners. Frankel executive-produces through MarcelMonco Pictures, the company he runs with his brother Max Mark Frankel, who takes on lead-producer duties. Huband produces alongside his sister Zara Huband under his Boneyard Films banner. Max Mark Frankel previously produced the comedy feature Our Hero, Balthasar.
French production company All In Films, founded by Thomas Laget and Julien Floutard, is assisting with the production. Konstantin Mazov has joined as director of photography.
For Frankel, the project adds producing credits to an acting résumé that extends well beyond Westeros. Alongside House of the Dragon, his credits include Task and The Serpent. For Huband, Love Unlimited represents a step behind the camera after his own work as an actor — he both writes and directs the piece while co-starring opposite Frankel.
The Pyrenees setting gives the production a striking backdrop for what the synopsis frames as an intimate two-hander. A short drama shot in mountain country, built around two characters sharing a finite stretch of time, keeps the focus tight on performance and atmosphere — the kind of canvas a first-time writer-director can shape closely.
