Warner Bros. to Open UK's Largest Harry Potter Store on Oxford Street Weeks Before HBO Series Debut
A two-floor, 21,000-square-foot Harry Potter store will open at 134-140 Oxford Street in central London on 4 November 2026, Warner Bros. has announced — arriving roughly seven weeks before HBO's new Harry Potter television series premieres on 25 December 2026 (Variety; CX Network).
Warner Bros. said the shop took inspiration from Diagon Alley, the wizarding shopping street in J.K. Rowling's books. Inside, visitors will find a dragon towering above a Gringotts bank display, a full-sized Knight Bus, and a Leaky Cauldron pub branch serving food and Butterbeer (Variety). Exclusive merchandise will include a Diagon Alley wand, a special Funko Pop figure, and MinaLima artwork inspired by the Knight Bus and Diagon Alley (Variety).
Karl Durrant, Warner Bros. senior vice-president of worldwide retail, called the opening "a truly special milestone" in a statement (Variety).
The Oxford Street site becomes the second official Harry Potter store in the UK, after the smaller shop at King's Cross Station (Variety). The timing places it in front of Christmas foot traffic on one of Europe's busiest shopping streets, and directly ahead of HBO's series launch, which is scheduled for 25 December 2026 (Variety).
Less than a day before Warner Bros. announced the Oxford Street store, one of London's unofficial Harry Potter merchandise shops was reported to have closed (Variety).
For fans, this means a central London destination with immersive set pieces and exclusive items timed to the debut of a new screen adaptation of the books. The store sits within a broader Warner Bros. Discovery push into physical experiences: in September 2024, the company announced a new global division, Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, focused on growth in experiences, theme parks, and studio-related attractions (Warner Bros. Discovery). The Studio Tour Tokyo, which opened in June 2023, already houses what Warner Bros. describes as the largest Harry Potter shop in the world, with 14 themed sections and over 7,000 items (Warner Bros.
