Jonas Brothers to Headline Halftime at First-Ever NFL Regular Season Game in Australia
The Jonas Brothers will headline the halftime show at the NFL Melbourne Game on September 10, the league announced on August 12, placing one of pop's most recognisable bands at the centre of the first regular-season NFL game ever played on Australian soil.
The game itself is an NFC West divisional clash between the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers, set for the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Kick-off is scheduled for 8:35 p.m. ET, which falls at 10:35 a.m. AEST on September 11 for local audiences. The match will stream exclusively on Netflix, while the Jonas Brothers' halftime performance will also broadcast live in Australia on the Seven Network (Billboard).
The streaming arrangement extends beyond a single game. Netflix is adding three more NFL contests to its 2026 slate, including a Thanksgiving game, on top of the Melbourne fixture (Los Angeles Times).
For the Jonas Brothers, the Melbourne gig adds another NFL line to a résumé that already includes a Thanksgiving 2022 halftime show in Dallas — where the Cowboys beat the New York Giants — and a performance during the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft in Kansas City.
The booking comes on the heels of the band's Jonas20: Greetings From Your Hometown Tour, which wraps with three nights at New York's Madison Square Garden on August 20, 21 and 22. The Melbourne halftime show sits roughly three weeks after that tour closer.
Tim Tubito, the NFL's senior director of global game presentation and entertainment, said the Jonas Brothers are "global entertainers" whose music "connects across generations," according to Billboard.
The Melbourne game is part of a broader 2025 international push by the league, which has scheduled regular-season games in London, Madrid, Mexico City, Munich, Paris and Rio de Janeiro. Australia now joins that map, and Netflix's involvement signals the league's continued pairing of live sport with streaming platforms to reach global audiences.
For Australian fans, it is a first chance to see a full NFL regular-season contest played locally — with a halftime act that has already proven it can fill the break in American stadiums.
