Disney+ has struck a podcast content deal with Gary Neville's The Overlap, bringing two football talk shows to the streaming platform for the 2026/27 season.

The deal delivers 40 new episodes of Stick to Football and 50 episodes of a new series, Stick to United, to Disney+ subscribers, according to Deadline. Disney+ will also become headline sponsor of both shows during the season.

Stick to Football is hosted by a panel of former players: Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott, Ian Wright and Roy Keane. Stick to United pairs Wayne Rooney with Mark Goldbridge, the fan-media creator who sold his channels to The Overlap in April. The Overlap had previously acquired Manchester United fan channel The United Stand and its sister platform That's Football, Insider Sport reported.

Episodes of Stick to Football will run on Disney+, other podcast platforms and The Overlap's YouTube channel. Stick to United gets a tighter window: 20 of its 50 episodes will be exclusive to Disney+ for a limited time before appearing elsewhere. Disney+ has also commissioned six extended-length episodes of Stick to United featuring special guests.

Stick to United begins streaming weekly on Tuesday 18 August. Stick to Football follows on Thursday 20 August, available in the UK and Ireland.

Neville, co-founder and co-chair of The Overlap, called the partnership "unique" and said the show's existing community would continue to find content on YouTube while Disney+ audiences could discover it. Sean Doyle, Disney+ EMEA VP of Unscripted, said the platform was excited to bring one of the UK's most popular sports shows to Disney+ as it moves into "a new era of sports entertainment."

Goldbridge, for his part, called Stick to United "an historic milestone for fan-led media."

The backdrop to the deal is a broader push by streaming platforms into football audio. Over the summer, Netflix backed the World Cup editions of Gary Lineker's podcast The Rest is Football. Disney+ has now landed its own football podcast slate through The Overlap, which is majority-owned by Global — the UK radio and audio company that acquired its stake in January.

For fans, the practical effect is straightforward: two football shows that once lived mainly on YouTube and audio platforms will now sit alongside Disney+'s scripted and unscripted catalogue, with some episodes locked behind a streaming subscription for a period.
