Spider-Man: Brand New Day has surpassed $700 million in domestic ticket sales, becoming the fastest film to reach that benchmark — and it got there in just two weekends of release. The film has grossed $704.5 million in North America and $1.8 billion worldwide, according to Variety Variety. Domestic, in box-office terms, means the United States and Canada combined.

Only seven movies in history have ever reached $700 million in North America. The list is short and select: Star Wars: The Force Awakens leads with $963 million, followed by Avengers: Endgame at $858 million, Avatar at $785 million, Top Gun: Maverick at $721 million, and Black Panther at $700 million Variety. Brand New Day now joins them after a fraction of the time those films spent in theatres.

The overseas numbers are just as striking. The film has climbed to $1.108 billion internationally, which already overtakes the entire overseas total of its predecessor, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which earned $1.106 billion Variety. It crossed the $1 billion threshold at the foreign box office in 12 days, the second-fastest film to do so after Avengers: Endgame Deadline.

The opening set the pace. Brand New Day debuted to a record-breaking $355 million in North America and $932 million globally on its first weekend Variety. That $360 million domestic opening, per The Numbers, beat Avengers: Endgame's all-time domestic opening record Deadline. Globally, the $927 million start ranks as the second-best worldwide opening of all time, behind only Endgame's $1.22 billion Deadline. The film passed the billion-dollar mark worldwide in just six days Variety.

Brand New Day is now the biggest movie of 2026 and ranks as the 10th-highest grossing release of all time, both internationally and globally Variety. The film was produced on a $225 million budget, per The Numbers The Numbers. Its marketing campaign set an all-time promotion record with $309 million in media value Deadline.

What makes this stand out is the velocity. Every film above Brand New Day on the domestic chart played through multiple weeks, holiday corridors, and in some cases re-releases to reach their totals. Avatar and Avengers: Endgame, the two biggest movies worldwide with $2.9 billion and $2.7 billion respectively, both benefited from theatrical re-releases to reach those figures Variety. Brand New Day has done its damage in two weekends.

The $1 billion domestic mark — a number no film has ever reached — is now in play. Star Wars: The Force Awakens came closest at $963 million. Brand New Day, already at $704.5 million and still in wide release, could become the first Variety.
