Krispy Kreme is turning doughnuts into Pokédex entries. On August 18, 2026, the doughnut chain launches a limited-time Pokémon Doughnut Collection across participating shops in the United States and Canada, timed to celebrate Pokémon's 30th anniversary this year. The collection runs through September 13 for online pickup and delivery, with pre-orders open on Krispy Kreme's website from August 13 through August 17. (GameSpot, Allrecipes)

Six pastries make up the lineup, each based on a familiar character or item from the Pokémon universe. The Pikachu doughnut is filled with lemon crème, topped with what Krispy Kreme calls an "electrifying drizzle" and a Pikachu-themed piece. Charmander gets a chocolate and toasted marshmallow filling. The remaining four — Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Jigglypuff and the Poké Ball — are built on Krispy Kreme's signature Original Glazed doughnut, customised with themed decorations. (GameSpot)

The special-edition Pokémon dozen retails for about US$21. Beyond the doughnuts themselves, the collaboration includes five collectible Pokémon cups, each holding 10 glazed doughnut "dots" in a gold finish. The cups sell separately for around US$8, or they can be bundled with the doughnut dozen for approximately US$29. (GameSpot)

There is also a freebie for anyone willing to dress the part. On August 22, Krispy Kreme will give a free Original Glazed doughnut to anyone who walks into a participating location wearing Pokémon-branded apparel — a shirt, a hat, anything that shows off a favourite creature from the franchise. No purchase is required. (GameSpot)

For fans of either brand, the appeal is straightforward: collectible packaging, character-themed treats and a reason to dig out an old Pikachu shirt. The collaboration runs for less than a month, so the window to catch them all is a narrow one. Pre-orders were live at the time of announcement on Krispy Kreme's official promotional page. Pokémon turned 30 in 2026, and the franchise has spent the year partnering with brands across food, fashion and gaming. The Krispy Kreme collection adds a edible chapter to that anniversary — one lemon-crème-filled Pikachu at a time. (Allrecipes)
