Man Charged After Allegedly Urinating on Fans at Morgan Wallen Concert in Baltimore

A 33-year-old North Carolina man has been arrested and charged after allegedly urinating on fellow concertgoers at Morgan Wallen's July 18 show at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.

Jayson Reed faces four counts of second-degree assault, along with public urination and other related offences, according to Rolling Stone. An arrest warrant was issued on Tuesday, and Reed was taken into custody this week in North Carolina, where he is being held without bail pending extradition to Maryland.

Maryland Transportation Authority police initially responded to a report of a fight in the crowd during the concert. What they found, according to the charging documents, was something stranger and more unpleasant: Reed had allegedly urinated on multiple people in the stands.

Among those affected was Troy Grevelding, who told the outlet that he, his wife, and his two nieces — one of whom was eight years old — were among the people urinated on. Grevelding's account was also reported by CBS News Baltimore.

Reed was not arrested on the night of the concert because public urination and indecent exposure are classified as misdemeanour offences in Baltimore, where police can issue citations rather than make custodial arrests for lower-level charges. The four counts of second-degree assault, filed this week, elevated the matter to one warranting an arrest — a step that took nearly four weeks from the date of the incident.

Wallen's Baltimore stop was part of the country star's stadium tour circuit, drawing tens of thousands of fans to the home venue of the NFL's Baltimore Ravens. The show itself proceeded without disruption; the incident unfolded in the crowd, away from the stage.

For the fans caught up in it, a night of music turned into something they are unlikely to forget for reasons that have nothing to do with the setlist.

Reed remains in custody in North Carolina awaiting transfer to Maryland to face the charges.
