Violet and Dash Parr are stepping up. Pixar used its D23 stage in Anaheim to tease The Incredibles 3, with chief creative officer Peter Docter revealing the sequel will focus on the two Parr siblings trying to prove they are ready to be real Supers — that is, full-fledged superheroes in the world of the film, not just the kids in the family. Craig T. Nelson returns as Bob Parr, Sarah Vowell as Violet, and Huck Milner as Dash. Peter Sohn directs, with Brad Bird — the writer-director behind the first two films — on screenplay duties. The Incredibles reveal was one headline among many at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, which ran across three days in Anaheim, California. The showcase teased updates on Avengers: Doomsday, the Star Wars franchise, the new X-Men cast, a new season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and first looks at the live-action Tangled adaptation, Coco 2, Oswald, and The Bluey Movie. Pixar also previewed Ghost Market, a new animated film co-directed by Trevos Jimenez and Jesse Andrews, with release expected in 2028. And Disney+ greenlit a Kingdom Hearts series based on the game created by Tetsuya Nomura, reimagining the adventure with a brand-new story — meaning the show will not retell the games' plot but chart its own path through that world. Beyond the main showcase, Disney spread the celebration across Anaheim. The schedule included a member preview of the Walt Disney Archives exhibit Capturing Life, Creating Character — about the art of live-action reference modelling in animated films — at the Muzeo museum on August 8. A bingo night at Bottle Logic Brewing on August 10 was open to everyone, no D23 membership required. August 11 brought a free DJ-and-trivia night at the Anaheim Packing District. The Angels hosted D23 Night at Angel Stadium on August 12, when they played the Texas Rangers. And August 13 was D23 Day at Disneyland Resort, with themed moments and fan-favourite experiences across the park. (D23.com; D23.com; D23.com; D23.com; D23.com)

The main event itself ran August 14–16 at the Anaheim Convention Center, featuring more than 50 panels and immersive experiences from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM each day. Disney billed it as a weekend of exclusive reveals, legendary talent, and shopping. Jodi Benson — the voice of Ariel in The Little Mermaid — served as the first official D23 fan ambassador. For fans who cannot make it to California, Disney has already confirmed a geographic first: D23 Asia will debut in Singapore in 2027, marking the event's first expansion outside the United States. (The Walt Disney Company)

For a weekend that leaned so heavily on sequels and franchises, the most intriguing threads were the ones starting fresh. A Kingdom Hearts series with an original story and a Pixar film called Ghost Market both signal that Disney is not only mining its vault but placing new bets alongside it.
