Kristen Bell turned up at a Savannah Bananas game on Saturday, August 15, wearing a headset microphone, a custom Bananas jersey and leopard-print cargo pants — then sang a medley of Broadway numbers and a Frozen favourite with the team's pitcher, Broadway veteran Derek Klena.

The appearance took place at a Bananas matchup against the Indianapolis Clowns, part of the team's Banana Ball World Tour. The Bananas, a viral baseball team known for staging theatrical, entertainment-heavy games, have built their brand on exactly this kind of cross-genre spectacle. The musical segment was billed as "Musical Roulette," a recurring bit in the Bananas' format.

Bell and Klena performed a string of show tunes and film songs. Bell sang "For the First Time in Forever" from Frozen — the 2013 Disney film in which she voices Princess Anna — and Klena took on "Dancing Through Life" from the musical Wicked. They also performed "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" from Dirty Dancing, with Klena singing the Bill Medley part and Bell taking the Jennifer Warnes part. That song reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 — the weekly US singles chart — in 1987. Billboard

Klena, 34, is a Tony-nominated actor known for roles in Jagged Little Pill and Dogfight. He publicly announced he was joining the Savannah Bananas in December 2025 and has been part of their touring roster since. A pitcher by night and a Broadway performer by training, he is the bridge that made the duet possible. People

The Bananas posted video of the set across their social channels. Their official Instagram reel, captioned "The mashup we never knew we needed," had received over 1 million likes and more than 13,000 comments by August 16. The team also shared footage on YouTube and TikTok, the latter described as a "Savannah Bananas Broadway Moment." Instagram

The surprise came a day after Bell reunited with Frozen co-stars Idina Menzel and Josh Gad at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim, California, on Friday, August 14. There, the trio teased Frozen 3, which is scheduled for release on November 24, 2027. Bell performed "Frozen Heart" with Menzel, while Gad performed a new Olaf song titled "Ooooh, Samantha." Bell also revealed at the event that her character Anna will marry Kristoff — voiced by Jonathan Groff — in the third film. Billboard

For fans of Frozen, the Bananas appearance was a bonus: a Disney princess singing her own song on a baseball diamond, backed by a pitcher who has played a leading role on Broadway. The video evidence is already circulating widely enough that anyone who missed the game can watch the whole set from their phone.
