Diplo Reveals He Welcomed a Fourth Child, a Daughter, on a Family Trip to Peru

Diplo has revealed that he became a father to a fourth child — a daughter — roughly a year ago, sharing the news publicly for the first time through a family vacation post on Instagram.
The producer, whose legal name is Thomas Pentz, posted the photos on August 14 from a trip to Peru. One image shows him holding a small child whose face is covered with a red heart emoji. In the caption, he wrote that his daughter celebrated her first birthday with llamas wearing sunglasses. Billboard and E! Online both reported that the child was privately welcomed and that the Peru trip marked her first birthday.
This is Diplo's first daughter. His three other children are boys: Lockett, 15, and Lazer, 11, with his former partner Kathryn Lockhart, and Pace, born in 2020, with model Jevon King. He has not revealed his daughter's name or identified her mother.
The vacation photos span several locations across Peru, including Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain in the Andes, and other excursions. Diplo's father, Thomas Pentz Sr., and his son Lazer appear in the images. In the caption, Diplo wrote that he would rather lose sleep with his family than at a club or a rave this summer.
Diplo's verified Instagram account, @diplo, has roughly 7 million followers and over 8,200 posts. His most recent posts before the family photos promoted his songs "Would U Still Love Me" and "Saving This Bottle."
Diplo, 47, rose to prominence as one half of the electronic duo Major Lazer and through solo production work across pop, dancehall and hip-hop. He has won multiple Grammy Awards and collaborated with artists including Beyoncé, Justin Bieber and M.I.A.
The reveal lands as something of a surprise: there had been no prior public indication that Diplo had welcomed another child. The Peru post doubles as both a birthday celebration and a quiet introduction.
