Milwaukee Rappers Lil Sheisty and Funny $Money Found Dead in Recording Studio Shooting
Milwaukee rappers Lil Sheisty and Funny $Money were found dead of gunshot wounds inside a Milwaukee recording studio on Monday afternoon, Aug. 17, 2026.
Police were called to a building near 31st Street and Cameron Avenue around 3:40 p.m., where both men were pronounced dead at the scene, WISN reported. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office identified the deceased as Dequaiseon D. Evans, 21, known by his rap name Lil Sheisty, and Quentene E. Williams, 33, known as Funny $Money, Billboard reported on Aug. 19.
Both men were shot at the scene by an assailant who has not yet been publicly identified, according to the Medical Examiner's Office. An unnamed 28-year-old was arrested in connection with the double shooting, and criminal charges have been referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office. A Milwaukee Police Department spokesperson confirmed to Billboard that officers are investigating the double-fatal shooting.
Family members said Evans was at the studio with his mentor, Williams, when they were killed. Evans, a young father of three, was described by relatives as an up-and-coming rapper. Williams was a key member of the Milwaukee hip-hop scene and a prolific independent MC — meaning he released music without backing from a major label, handling production, distribution and promotion himself or through small local outfits.
Williams had been active right up to his death. He uploaded the video for his most recent single, "Goldie/I Ain't Lying," on Friday, Aug. 14 — three days before the shooting. Earlier in 2026 he released the album Paid But Not Full, Vol. 1, and in 2025 he put out a string of projects including Streets Calling, the Don't Talk 2 Much Vol. 4 mixtape, Uncomparable, and Sorry I Was Trapping.
A vigil for both rappers was held on Tuesday, Aug. 18. Evans's twin sister, Jaquaisa Evans, spoke about her late brother at the gathering.
No motive has been disclosed by police, and no charges had been formally filed as of Aug. 19. The investigation is ongoing.
