India's Epic Studios has partnered with Rusk Media to produce 50 original vertical drama series, all set to premiere on Alright! TV — Rusk Media's platform for vertical-drama content made for phone screens (Variety).

Vertical dramas, also called microdramas, are short episodic series shot in a vertical format designed for mobile viewing. Each series typically runs 50 to 75 episodes, takes about three months to produce, and costs between $100,000 and $300,000, according to Reuters.

The 50-series slate will span mythology, drama, mystery, thriller and romance. The goal, according to Aditya Pittie — managing director of The Epic Company, Epic Studios' parent — is to build India's largest library of owned vertical-drama intellectual property. Pittie said the partnership aims to have over 250 vertical-drama titles by mid-2027 (Variety).

The Epic Company, formerly known as IN10 Media Network, leads Epic Studios under Pittie's direction. Epic Studios itself was previously called Juggernaut Productions and MovieVerse Studio. Vivek Krishnani serves as CEO of Epic Studios' film division, while Samar Khan heads its OTT and TV division. On the Rusk Media side, Karanvir Sofat is co-founder and chief revenue officer (Variety).

Rusk Media, founded in 2019, produces mobile-first entertainment targeting Gen Z and millennial audiences. Its content reaches viewers through platforms including Amazon MX Player and JioHotstar, alongside its advertising arm, Rusk Ads. The company's Alright! TV platform already hosts vertical-drama series such as "Date with Devil," which releases new seasons daily, Monday through Friday at 12 PM (Variety; Facebook).

Rusk Media has been drawing broader industry attention. In late June 2026, Yash Raj Films — the legacy Bollywood studio — announced a strategic investment in Rusk Media aimed at building original vertical microdramas and animation for Alright! TV. That deal marked Yash Raj Films' entry into India's mobile-first vertical entertainment space (Variety; BestMediaInfo).

What makes this deal worth watching is the sheer volume. Fifty series in a single slate is a bet that the format — fast to produce, cheap to shoot, and built for the phone — can sustain a pipeline big enough to stock a platform. With Yash Raj Films already on board as an investor and The Epic Company committing to 250-plus titles within the next year, Alright! TV is positioning itself as a destination for viewers who want their drama in vertical, bite-sized instalments.

For the crews, writers and performers behind these series, the pipeline means work — fast-turnaround, high-volume work, with each series moving from script to screen in roughly three months.
