You Are Here Rounds Out Its Cast as Three More Join Claire Foy and Matthew Macfadyen in BBC/Starz Drama
Three more actors have joined Claire Foy and Matthew Macfadyen in You Are Here, the BBC and Starz adaptation of David Nicholls' bestselling novel. Josiah Green-Mhlanga, Karla Crome and Tom Stourton round out the key cast of the eight-part drama, which began taking shape last month when Foy and Macfadyen were announced as its leads (Deadline).
The story follows Marnie, played by Foy, and Michael, played by Macfadyen — two people who unexpectedly fall in love when their mutual friend Cleo brings a group together for a walking weekend in the Lake District. Crome plays Cleo, the friend at the centre of the gathering. Green-Mhlanga plays Anthony, Cleo's son, while Stourton takes on Conrad, a friend of Cleo's husband who is a reluctant addition to the hike (Deadline).
Nicholls, whose novel the series is based on, wrote the adaptation himself. The eight-episode order — a straight-to-series commission, meaning no pilot is shot first — was greenlit by both the BBC and Starz (Deadline).
Behind the camera, the production carries a strong creative thread. Element Pictures, the company behind the acclaimed 2020 series Normal People, produces. Lenny Abrahamson, who directed Normal People, returns as director. The executive producer roster is long: Nicholls, Abrahamson, Foy, Macfadyen, Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, Emma Norton, Jonny Richards and Anna Ferguson all carry EP credits. Clare Shepherd is the producer (Deadline).
The distribution setup spans several companies. Fremantle holds international sales rights. De Maio Entertainment oversees the partnership with Starz, which will air the series in the US. BBC One and BBC iPlayer will carry the show in the UK and Ireland (Deadline).
Foy is known for All of Us Strangers and her turn as Queen Elizabeth II in The Crown. Macfadyen is widely recognised from Succession, where he played Tom Wambsgans (Deadline). The BBC first confirmed the pair as leads on 30 July 2026 (BBC Media Centre).
What makes this stand out is the reunion of talent. Nicholls, Abrahamson and Element Pictures last collaborated on projects that put intimate, character-driven storytelling in front of large audiences. You Are Here — a love story set across a single walking trip — sits squarely in that tradition.
