King Charles Arrives at Balmoral as Harry and Meghan Prepare UK Return
King Charles received a formal military welcome to Balmoral Castle on Tuesday, arriving at his Highland retreat two days after being informed that Prince Harry and Meghan plan to move back to Britain this month.
The 77-year-old monarch was received by a guard of honour provided by Balaklava Company, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, outside the castle gates. Charles is Colonel-in-Chief of the regiment. Among the well-wishers gathered for the arrival, the King spotted what HELLO! magazine described as a "familiar face" and paused to greet them.
The arrival carries more weight than the usual summer migration to Balmoral, the royal family's Scottish estate. Harry and Meghan intend to relocate from the United States with their children Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, who are expected to enroll in a British school in September — six years after the couple stepped back from royal duties and moved across the Atlantic (The Guardian; Reuters).

Author Robert Jobson said the Prince of Wales must be "feeling slightly aghast" and will face pressure to act pragmatically regarding his brother's return, HELLO! reported.
Neither Buckingham Palace nor Kensington Palace has issued a formal statement on the Sussexes' relocation. Harry and Meghan have not publicly confirmed a date for the move beyond the August timeframe reported by multiple outlets, including The New York Times and NPR.
