Naughty Dog's Intergalactic Adds Veteran Voice Actor Robin Atkin Downes
Voice actor Robin Atkin Downes announced on August 21, 2026 that he has joined the cast of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, the upcoming PlayStation 5 game from Naughty Dog. Downes shared the news on his official X/Twitter account, writing that he was "working again with the Dawgs" — a nod to his history with the studio behind The Last of Us and Uncharted (GameSpot).
Downes is a familiar presence in Naughty Dog's catalogue. He played Robert, a black-market dealer, in The Last of Us, and voiced multiple characters across the Uncharted series. His reach extends well beyond one studio: he was the Medic in Team Fortress 2, Travis Touchdown in No More Heroes, Spider in Destiny 2: Forsaken, and Ballistic in Apex Legends.
Naughty Dog first revealed Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet as a brand-new franchise on the PlayStation Blog on December 12, 2024. The game is set thousands of years in the future and follows Jordan A. Mun, a bounty hunter stranded on a distant planet called Sempira. Development has been underway since 2020. Tati Gabrielle stars as Jordan, and the cast already includes Kumail Nanjiani, Tony Dalton, Troy Baker, and Merle Dandridge. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross — the duo behind the scores for The Social Network and Challengers, among many others — are composing the soundtrack.
The casting deepens an already layered ensemble. Baker and Dandridge are both Naughty Dog veterans: Baker played Joel in The Last of Us, and Dandridge voiced Marlene in the same series. Adding Downes gives the project a third performer with deep roots at the studio.
No release date has been announced. The game does not yet have a public launch window, and Naughty Dog has not indicated when further details might arrive. A small cross-promotion has already surfaced, though: a jacket skin based on Jordan Mun's outfit is included as a bonus in The Last of Us Complete, the bundled re-release of The Last of Us Part I and Part II Remastered (PlayStation Store).
For a studio whose last new franchise launched more than a decade ago, Intergalactic represents a sizable bet — a sci-fi setting, an original cast of characters, and a soundtrack from two of film and television's most sought-after composers. Downes's announcement adds one more thread to a project that, nearly six years into development, continues to take shape in public.
