Quality Control Music co-founder and CEO Pierre "P" Thomas has been hospitalised following a medical emergency, the Atlanta-based label confirmed on Friday, 21 August 2026. Thomas, 45, is alive and receiving medical care, according to a statement from Quality Control shared with Billboard.

The label asked the public to keep Thomas and his family in their thoughts and to give them privacy. "We deeply appreciate everyone's concern, support, prayers, and loving energy," the statement read in part. No further details about the nature of the medical emergency or Thomas's current condition have been released.

Thomas co-founded Quality Control Music with Kevin "Coach K" Lee in 2013. The label, headquartered in Atlanta, built a roster that helped define a decade of mainstream hip-hop, releasing music through artists associated with the Migos collective and other acts across rap and R&B. In 2023, the South Korean entertainment company HYBE acquired QC Media Holdings — the parent company of Quality Control — in a deal valued at $300 million, as reported by Billboard. HYBE is the conglomerate behind BTS; the acquisition was part of its strategy to expand its footprint in the US recorded-music market.

Thomas has been a visible executive in hip-hop, not only behind the deal table but in public moments of grief and celebration alike. In November 2022, he shared an emotional Instagram post following the death of Migos rapper Takeoff, who was fatally shot in Houston at the age of 28 (REVOLT). A separate allegation of domestic violence involving Thomas and a former partner has been reported in the past, though no charges or court findings are reflected in the currently available sources.

For now, the label's statement is the only confirmed information about Thomas's condition, and Quality Control has indicated that further updates will come through official channels.
