Karol G's Foundation Donates $1.2 Million to Colombia Earthquake Relief During Star-Studded Benefit Concert

Karol G's Con Cora Foundation has donated $1.2 million to support communities affected by the 7.4-magnitude earthquake that struck Colombia's Pacific Coast on August 10, 2026. Karol G, whose legal name is Carolina Giraldo Navarro, appeared via livestream from California, performing the songs "Coleccionando Heridas" and "Milagros." She was one of more than 30 artists who participated in the concert, a lineup that included Maluma, Eladio Carrión, Greeicy, Draco Rosa and Sebastián Yatra. The event raised more than 11 billion Colombian pesos — approximately $3.6 million — for earthquake relief.

The earthquake on August 10 prompted a broad humanitarian response. The United Nations and its humanitarian partners are seeking $148.1 million to address needs created by the disaster, according to UN News. The European Union pledged €2 million ($2.3 million) in aid, Reuters reported. Direct Relief, a humanitarian medical organisation, said its support for Colombia over the past five years has included more than $7 million in medical aid and financial assistance, with $1.2 million of that in grants.

Karol G had mobilised her foundation within days of the quake. On August 12, she placed the Con Cora Foundation at the disposal of those affected, according to CNN en Español and Infobae. The foundation is coordinating with allied organisations to deliver aid to affected communities.

The "Colombia: Voces por la Vida" concert brought together artists across Latin pop, urbano and rock for a single evening of fundraising. For Karol G, who has been based in the United States during recent months, the livestream appearance kept her connected to the relief effort without requiring travel. Her $1.2 million donation alone accounts for roughly a third of the concert's total raised funds.

What stands out is the speed of the response. The concert was staged less than two weeks after the earthquake hit. The UN's $148.1 million appeal, announced August 20, gives a sense of the scale still ahead — the money raised at the concert covers a fraction of what relief agencies say is needed.
