Comedian Hannah Berner Tapped to Host Paramount+'s Dating Reality Series 'Making Love'
Comedian Hannah Berner will host Making Love, a new dating reality series for Paramount+, according to Deadline. The show is the streamer's first unscripted original commission since David Ellison's Skydance took over the studio — meaning every non-scripted green-light from Paramount+ now carries the weight of a new ownership era.
Paramount+ described Making Love as "a bold new relationship experiment which gives singles a completely original and unique opportunity to take destiny into their own hands." Details on the format remain thin. Deadline first broke news of the project's existence in March 2026, though the hosting announcement landed on 25 August.
The series comes from Kinetic Content, the production company behind Love Is Blind and Married at First Sight — two of the most widely streamed dating formats of the past decade. Kinetic Content CEO Chris Coelen executive produces alongside Ally Simpson, Brent Gauches, Lauren Dunlop and Jayson Elmore.
For Berner, the hosting gig sits at the centre of a career built across reality television, stand-up and podcasting. She appeared on three seasons of Bravo's Summer House before leaving the show. Her comedy specials include Netflix's We Ride At Dawn and Hulu's None of My Business, the latter tying into a headlining tour she launched in autumn 2025, as Deadline reported. She also co-hosts the Giggly Squad podcast with Paige DeSorbo, a partnership that carried the pair through a 28-city live tour in 2024, per Deadline.
Berner and DeSorbo are also developing a half-hour scripted comedy for Netflix, in which they will write and star, playing fictionalised versions of themselves. Amy Poehler and Kay Cannon are producing that project, Deadline reported in March 2026. Berner is additionally set to host Dream Date: A Sip At Love, a six-episode dating series for TikTok slated to premiere in 2026, per Yahoo Entertainment.
Not every headline has been a booking announcement. In December 2024, Deadline reported that Berner faced scrutiny over a Blake Lively joke she made during Netflix's year-end special Torching 2024: A Roast of A Year, in the context of Justin Baldoni's then-ongoing lawsuit. The story circulated widely but did not halt her momentum across platforms.
What stands out about the Making Love appointment is the signal it sends about Paramount+'s commissioning priorities under Skydance. A dating show — relatively affordable to produce compared with scripted drama, and proven to drive engagement — is the first unscripted bet of the new regime. Kinetic Content's track record with Love Is Blind gives the project an immediate production pedigree.
For viewers, it means another dating format will enter an already crowded field, this time hosted by a comedian who has spent the last two years turning a podcast and a stand-up career into a cross-platform presence. A premiere date for Making Love has not been announced.
