Rolling Stone and VIBE have launched a co-produced travel series called Mark the Spot, spotlighting Black creative spaces across Dallas, Texas. The first episode, titled "Art," is now live and follows Dallas-based multidisciplinary artist Temi Coker through the Pencil on Paper gallery in the city's Design District. Rolling Stone

Coker, 33, creates vibrant, layered designs drawn from his Nigerian heritage. He runs Coker Studio in Dallas alongside his wife, Afritina Coker. In the debut episode he visits Pencil on Paper, a gallery and educational facility dedicated to uplifting and platforming Black art.

The gallery is directed by Dr. ie Bennett, whose husband, painter Emmanuel Gillespie, is featured with his Joy and Love series — a collection depicting moments of happiness rendered in shades of blue. The episode walks viewers through the space, the work on the walls, and the people behind both.

Mark the Spot also features the 2026 Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid vehicle, including its Lincoln Rejuvenate feature, as part of the series' presentation. The automotive integration positions the Nautilus as the series' vehicle of record across its Dallas travels.

What makes the series worth watching is its focus on the people who build and sustain these spaces rather than the spaces alone. Coker is not a detached narrator; he is a working artist moving through a gallery that shares his creative neighbourhood, and the episode lets that proximity do the talking. The choice to open with a gallery dedicated to Black art — one that doubles as an educational facility — sets a clear editorial tone for where the series plans to direct its attention.

Rolling Stone and VIBE have not yet announced subsequent episodes or the full slate of Dallas locations the series will cover. The debut is available through Rolling Stone's platforms.
