GameSquare is rebranding its gaming and esports livestreaming measurement platform Stream Hatchet as Hatchet, expanding the tool from audience tracking into a full-service marketing platform aimed at brands chasing youth culture (Variety, 26 August 2026).

The rebranded platform, announced on 26 August 2026, adds TikTok Live, Twitter/X and Instagram data to its existing livestreaming network measurements. Those measurements draw on 10 years of insights covering more than 50 million creators across over 30 platforms, including Twitch, YouTube, Kick and TikTok (Variety, 26 August 2026).

GameSquare describes Hatchet as "the first full-service creator matching and brand marketing analytics platform built for marketers looking to engage in youth culture with an emphasis on gaming." Its existing client roster includes Electronic Arts and NASCAR (Variety, 26 August 2026).

New features include an AI-powered "Smart Search" that lets users narrow results by audience overlap and chat sentiment. Brands can also identify which YouTube views come from paid placements versus organic reach — a distinction that matters when measuring whether a sponsorship actually moved the needle. A creator community hub rounds out the additions, designed to manage the full campaign life cycle from initial outreach through activation and ROI tracking (Variety, 26 August 2026).

The rebrand builds on groundwork laid earlier in 2026. On 26 March, Stream Hatchet launched a feature called Creator Communities, giving brands and publishers access to a database of over 55 million creators and 200 million unique social profiles (GameSquare Investor Relations, 26 March 2026; Stream Hatchet blog, 25 March 2026). That launch marked the platform's shift from a pure analytics tool toward a broader creator marketing service. In late June, GameSquare also renewed and expanded its long-running partnership with Riot Games, a relationship that dates back to 2019 (GameSquare Investor Relations, 29 June 2026).

GameSquare CEO Justin Kenna said Hatchet is a full-service proposition backed by the entire GameSquare ecosystem, aimed at helping brands "live at the center of gaming in youth culture." Alessandra Pinto, Hatchet's director of product, said the platform aims to be a strategic partner helping brands move from outreach to activation and manage the full campaign life cycle (Variety, 26 August 2026).

For brands spending on creator partnerships, the pitch is straightforward: one platform to find the right creator, run the campaign, and prove it worked — rather than stitching together separate tools for each step. Whether Hatchet delivers on that promise will play out in the campaigns its clients run next.
