Golf Channel Cancels Fully Filmed 'Big Break x Good Good' Season After Ad Controversy

Golf Channel has pulled the plug on a fully filmed 2026 season of Big Break x Good Good, its signature reality competition series, after a controversial advertisement triggered a chain of sponsor departures that reached the PGA Tour itself.
The network said in a statement that it could not complete the season as planned because "the intended outcome of the series could no longer be fulfilled" following recent developments involving Good Good (The Hollywood Reporter). Golf Channel added that it looks forward to Big Break returning to the network in 2027.
The winner of Big Break x Good Good was supposed to earn a sponsorship exemption — a reserved spot — into the Good Good Championship, a PGA Tour-sanctioned event scheduled for November 12–15. That tournament will still take place, but without Good Good branding and without the Big Break winner in the field of 120 golfers. Golf Channel has not revealed who won the competition.
The trouble began with an advertisement for a Callaway driver co-branded with Good Good. In the ad, Good Good golfer Alexis Miestowski reaches for a Callaway driver belonging to Good Good co-founder Garrett Clark. Clark rushes her, knocks her down, stands over her, and warns: "Do not touch my new driver." Clark and Good Good CEO Matt Kendrick said the ad was intended as a parody of Obsession, a breakout 2026 film. Everyone involved apologized. The apologies were not enough.
The fallout moved fast. On Thursday, the PGA Tour removed Good Good as title sponsor of its November tournament, a PGA Tour Fall Series event in Austin, Texas (ESPN; The Athletic). Callaway announced it had ended its brand partnership with Good Good (Golfweek). Golf Galaxy, the presenting sponsor of Big Break x Good Good, pulled its endorsement and removed Good Good products from its retail offerings (Yahoo Sports).
The premiere had been scheduled for a Tuesday evening, but hours before airtime Golf Channel pushed it back a week, citing "necessary production updates" (The Hollywood Reporter). That delay turned into a full cancellation.
Big Break originally aired on Golf Channel from 2003 to 2015, giving amateur golfers a shot at professional tournament exemptions. The network revived it in partnership with Good Good, a YouTube golf brand the PGA Tour has described as one of the most prominent in the space, with more than 1.6 million subscribers. Golf Channel and Good Good entered their programming partnership in 2023. Clark's own YouTube channel has 1.3 million subscribers.
For a series that had already been filmed — contestants competing, a winner determined — the cancellation means the footage will not reach audiences as intended. The crew, the competitors, and the production all saw a season through to completion. Golf Channel has pointed to 2027 for Big Break to return, but whether the Good Good partnership survives remains unaddressed.
