Jewish filmmakers looking for backing now have a dedicated shop window.

SHOOQ, a new non-profit online platform, has launched to connect creators with investors, funders and philanthropists, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The aim is simple. Put the project and the money in the same place.

The venture was started by producers Ari Pinchot and Jonathan Rubenstein to advance Jewish storytelling. The pair previously produced the Roast of Anti-Semitism comedy show in Los Angeles, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Early support comes from a mix of industry and philanthropy. Backers include Ben Silverman, the former NBC co-chairman, Micah Green, chief executive of 30 West, and Tanya Cohen, co-chief executive of Made by Us. Actress Emmanuelle Chriqui and producer Anthony Bregman are also among the backers.

Silverman and Chriqui also sit on SHOOQ's advisory board, according to Deadline. An advisory board is a group of experienced figures who guide a new organisation but do not run it day to day.

SHOOQ is built to speed up financing across a wide slate. That covers films and TV series, alongside podcasts and short video made for social media. Creators can present their ideas in one place. Funders can browse and make direct contact.

What makes this stand out is the breadth. It is not limited to cinema or television. A podcast idea and a feature film can sit side by side, chasing the same pool of supporters.
