Forest stun Villa with first Villa Park win since 1994

It was fast and frantic after the break. Liam Delap struck 45 seconds after the restart to put Forest ahead.

Villa hit back through Alysson. His equaliser was his first goal in English football. It also ended a run of 372 Premier League minutes without a goal for Villa.

The noise did not last. Igor Jesus scored late to win it for Forest. It gave them their first win at Villa Park since 1994.

Villa finished the game with 10 men. Ian Maatsen was forced off injured and Emery had no replacements left to send on.

That finish told the story of Villa's start. They have now gone four games without a win to open a top-flight season. The club have only done that four times before, after 1992-93, 1997-98 and 2025-26.

The result also kept Oliver Glasner's record against Emery going. He is now unbeaten in eight games against the Villa manager.

For fans, this one will sting because Villa had finally found the net. One goal lifted the place. Then came another late punch, and a hobbling finish with no fresh legs to call on.
