North beats Carlton to stretch AFLW streak to 32
North Melbourne beat Carlton 4.9 (33) to 3.5 (23) at Arden Street on September 13 to stay unbeaten in the AFLW and stretch its record winning streak to 32 matches, according to ABC News.
The final margin was 10 points. In footy notation, 4.9 (33) means four goals and nine behinds for a total of 33 points, with a goal worth six and a behind worth one.
The win lifted North Melbourne to 5-0 for the season. Carlton fell to 4-1 after arriving in Round Five with an undefeated start to 2026, the AFL reported. North has now won 32 straight since drawing with Geelong in round two of 2024.
More than 3,500 supporters watched the game at Arden Street Ground in Melbourne. North Melbourne said it was a record crowd at the venue for the fixture, which the club bills as the AFLW SuperClash.
Ash Riddell led North with 39 disposals. A disposal is any kick or handball that keeps the ball in play. Jasmine Garner added 30 disposals, five clearances and a goal.
A clearance is a clean exit from a stoppage, the packed contest that follows a tackle or ball-up. Carlton captain Abbie McKay fought hard with 27 disposals and five clearances.
Carlton stayed close. The defence held. North found just enough space late to keep its streak alive in front of its home crowd.
