Dove Cameron's "When in Rome" has been voted fans' favourite new music of the week. The track took more than 71% of the vote in Billboard's weekly poll, Billboard confirmed on Sept. 13. The margin was wide.
Billboard had opened the vote two days earlier, on Friday, Sept. 11. The weekly poll asks readers to choose their favourite from a shortlist of that week's new releases. It does not measure sales, streams or radio play. It measures reader enthusiasm in that voting window.
This week's voting article was titled "Best New Music This Week Poll: Vote for Jhene Aiko, Slayyyter & More". The shortlist put Cameron alongside Jhené Aiko, Slayyyter, Bleachers and Rachel Chinouriri. Voting options included Cameron's "When In Rome" and Bleachers' "Caught Myself Believing", alongside a Rachel Chinouriri release, as listed in the voting article.
Jhené Aiko's "Westside Whimsy" finished second with 11% of the vote. That left a gap of 60 percentage points between first and second place. Slayyyter's "Crank 2" and Bleachers' "Caught Myself Believing" placed next in the ranking behind Aiko.
For Cameron, the win gives an early boost to a new chapter. "When in Rome" is her first musical release of 2026, as noted by Euphoria Magazine. It follows earlier singles including "French Girls". A single here means an individual song released on its own, ahead of any larger project.
The new song is also the first release from Cameron's forthcoming debut full-length studio album, according to Billboard. A debut full-length studio album means a first full album, as opposed to singles or a shorter collection. A title and release date for the album had not been announced when the poll result was published.
That means fans do not yet know what the album will be called or when it will arrive. For now, they have one confirmed song from it and one clear signal of interest from other listeners.
