Young Guns cast rides together again at FAN EXPO Dallas
The Regulators rode again in Dallas.
Lou Diamond Phillips reunited with Casey Siemaszko, Emilio Estevez, Kiefer Sutherland, Charlie Sheen and Dermot Mulroney at FAN EXPO Dallas in September 2026, according to Deadline. Phillips shared the group photo on 13 September with the caption "F'ing Epic!" The picture brought six of the Western's familiar faces shoulder to shoulder for the first time in years.
There was one extra face in the wider set of pictures. Terry O'Quinn, who played Alexander McSween in 'Young Guns' and later played John Locke on 'Lost', appeared in a reunion photo posted by Mulroney, Deadline reported. 'Lost' was the long-running television drama about the survivors of a plane crash. His presence added a link between the 1980s Western and later television.
The meeting took place during FAN EXPO Dallas 2026, which ran 11 to 13 September, according to PR Newswire. The event was held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas. Organisers promoted the cast appearance under the tagline "Regulators, Mount Up," a call drawn from the films, and listed photo ops, which are paid professional pictures with the stars, and autographs as part of the programme.
The guest listings showed how wide the cast's careers have run since. Phillips was listed as appearing Friday, Saturday and Sunday and billed under YOUNG GUNS and LONGMIRE. Sutherland was listed for the same three days and billed under YOUNG GUNS, THE LOST BOYS and 24. Estevez was listed under YOUNG GUNS on the event's guest pages.
The original 'Young Guns' was released in 1988, its Dallas announcement noted. It followed a group of young gunfighters caught up in the Lincoln County War in the Old West. Phillips, Estevez, Sutherland, Sheen, Siemaszko and Mulroney all appeared across the first film and its sequel. Both earlier films were shot in New Mexico, Deadline reported.
The Dallas reunion comes while a third film is in development. Estevez announced in January 2025 alongside New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham that he would direct 'Young Guns 3: Dead or Alive' in the state. The project was listed in pre-production, the stage before cameras roll, with Phillips and Christian Slater set to co-star. Estevez and John Fusco were cited as writers with Morgan Creek on board as producer, according to Deadline.
For fans, this means a rare chance to see the group together away from a film set first. Convention appearances do not confirm a start date for cameras. They do give a new audience a simple way in before any return to New Mexico.
