Sandra Choi will receive a Special Recognition Award at this year's Fashion Awards in London.

The award recognises her work at Jimmy Choo, the London-based luxury house known for shoes and accessories, where she leads design as creative director, the role in charge of a brand's collections. WWD reported the honour on 14 September.

This year's ceremony is set for 30 November at London's Royal Albert Hall. The event draws designers, retailers, models and executives from across the industry for one night.

Choi has spent three decades at Jimmy Choo. The Special Recognition Award honours that run, described as an exceptional contribution to the global fashion industry and leadership as one of its longest-serving creative directors.

It follows another public honour. Choi was named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for services to fashion on King Charles III's 2026 Birthday Honours List.

The British Fashion Council, the industry body for British fashion, is led by chief executive Laura Weir. Its Fashion Awards night is the primary fundraiser for the BFC Foundation, the council's charitable arm.

The foundation was created in 2019 for charitable purposes. Money raised around the awards supports its work.

What makes this stand out is staying power. Three decades at one house is rare in a business where designers move often. Choi joined the company in its early years and stayed through changes in ownership and style.

For fans, this means a familiar name takes centre stage. The night is usually about new faces and big dresses. This time it also pauses to recognise someone who shaped what is on the shelves.
