Meghan Markle reported driving SUV solo in the Cotswolds
Meghan Markle was reported driving a large SUV by herself in the Cotswolds, without Prince Harry in the car.
HELLO!, citing a source, published details of the solo drive on 14 September. The report described Markle behind the wheel on country roads near the couple's base.
Sightings of Markle driving herself are uncommon. When she was a working member of the royal family, she used chauffeured official royal transportation accompanied by security. A solo run in a large SUV is a different picture.
The reported drive came after Markle shared a family home video showing countryside walks during time back in the UK. The clip gave a short, relaxed look at family life outdoors. The drive was reported soon afterwards.
Harry and Markle have reportedly settled in a non-royal residence outside London in the Cotswolds. The area is being used as their home base for an extended stay in the UK. Their return began with a landing at Birmingham Airport in late August.
Other sightings have placed Markle in the same area. She was spotted at Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds, a private members' club with bedrooms, restaurants and leisure facilities. Page Six reported on 9 September that it was her first sighting in the UK since the move with Prince Harry.
The Cotswolds is familiar ground for the couple. During their previous stay in the UK, Harry and Markle lived in Frogmore Cottage in Windsor Great Park, a royal residence on the Windsor estate, and also rented a house in Great Tew in the Cotswolds.
What makes this stand out is how ordinary it sounds. No convoy. No official car. Just a reported solo drive, in a part of England where the couple have spent a lot of time before.
