Alpha Gang brings alien bikers to Toronto with all-star cast

Alien invaders in leather jackets have ridden into Toronto.

Alpha Gang, the aliens-are-among-us comedy from brothers David and Nathan Zellner, is making its international premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, Deadline reported. The 2026 edition of the festival, known as TIFF, runs 10-20 September, according to TIFF. As of 14 September 2026, that puts the premiere inside the closing stretch.

The premise is simple. A squad of alien invaders is sent to conquer Earth, Deadline reported. They hide in human form as a 1950s leather-clad biker gang. That disguise drives much of the culture clash.

The invaders go by numbers, not names. Léa Seydoux plays Alpha One, Dave Bautista is Alpha Two, Kelvin Harrison Jr is Alpha Three and Riley Keogh is Alpha Six, Deadline reported. Chris Pine appears as a surprise Alpha Seven.

The wider cast includes Cate Blanchett, who also produces the film, Deadline reported. Lily-Rose Depp is also in the ensemble, according to festival listings carried by Deadline. Variety lists David Zellner and Nathan Zellner as co-directors and describes the project as a sci-fi comedy.

It follows an unusual calling card for the brothers. Their previous feature was Sasquatch Sunset (2024), which starred Jesse Eisenberg and Riley Keogh in head-to-foot Bigfoot costumes, Deadline reported. Alpha Gang was shot in Croatia. Its soundtrack stays close to the biker look with 1950s and early 1960s pop, including songs by Conway Twitty, The Poni-Tails and Les Surfs.

At TIFF, the film was named as one of five Special Presentations in the 2026 Official Selection, according to TIFF. That strand is one of the festival's main showcases for new features. Coverage is already under way, with Variety publishing a review titled "'Alpha Gang' Review: An All-Star Cast Play Space Aliens".

For fans, this means a first chance to see a large ensemble test a high-concept setup. Bikers. Invaders. Pop songs from more than 60 years ago. Toronto gets the first international look.
