Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, have switched schools in Britain just days into the new school year over security concerns about the journey to class.

The children of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle started at their first-choice school this month and left after two days, according to People. The move comes weeks after the family relocated from California to Britain for an extended stay with both children, as reported by Reuters.

A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan said the decision was taken after a discussion with the family's security team about the practicalities of the current arrangements, as reported by Town & Country. Distance and traffic on the route to and from the first school had put the family's small private security team under strain, according to Hello! magazine.

The spokesperson said Harry and Meghan remain extremely grateful to teachers and staff for the love, care and effort shown to their family. The statement added that the decision should not be read as a reflection on the school or the exceptional care the children received there.

The names of the first school and the new school have not been made public, for privacy and security reasons. The family worked with Britain's press regulator, the independent body that handles complaints about newspapers and magazines, to keep the location of their home private.

Archie and Lilibet had been enrolled to start at a school in the United Kingdom in September. They are expected to start at the new school after a visit for a taster session on Monday, Sept. 14, a short trial visit British schools use to help new pupils settle in, Hello! magazine reported.

What makes this stand out is how fast it happened. Two school days in, then a reset. For any family new to an area, the commute can decide the choice.
