Meg Stalter Dresses as Emmy Statue for Emmys Red Carpet

Meg Stalter arrived at the Emmy Awards dressed as an Emmy Award.

The Hacks actor walked the red carpet on 14 September covered head to toe in gold, with matching gold skin, wings and a small globe held above her head, Variety reported. Gold everything. She posed alongside Hacks co-creator Paul W. Downs, who wore a classic tuxedo.

The timing matters for the Hacks team. The comedy has just wrapped its fifth and final season and is up for 24 nominations at this year's ceremony, Variety reported. A nomination is a shortlisting for an award, and 24 puts the show among the most recognised programmes of the night.

For Stalter, the night carries extra weight. She earned her first Emmy nomination in 2026, CNN reported, and the Television Academy lists her, as Megan Stalter, for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, the prize for the best supporting performance in a TV comedy, Television Academy. Downs personally broke the nomination news to her, she said in a pre-ceremony interview.

The statue look continues a run of coordinated appearances with her favourite red-carpet partner. In January, the pair wore bright orange outfits to the Critics Choice Awards red carpet inspired by the Marty Supreme premiere looks of Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner. Stalter has spoken about planning the joint appearances with Downs in an interview with The New Yorker.

It is a sharp turn from her recent Emmys history. In 2025 she wore straight-leg blue jeans and a white T-shirt with black flats, a belt and sunglasses, People. In 2022 she chose a red see-through dress on the Emmys red carpet. Many of the craft and guest categories were decided earlier at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, set for 5 and 6 September 2026.

What makes this stand out is the commitment to the bit. Most stars dress to impress the room. Stalter dressed as the room's most famous object, and brought the man who helped cast her with her.
