William opens Dartmoor hub as Harry turns 42
Prince William inked his own souvenir in Devon on 15 September 2026, the same day his younger brother Prince Harry turned 42.
The Prince of Wales spent the day in Princetown, a village beside the empty Dartmoor Prison, to open a new community and culture hub called Gather & Moor. He met residents and community leaders there, according to HELLO!.
Inside, he joined representatives of Princetown Press at their press. He had a go himself, pulling a hand-set broadsheet fresh off the machine. The ink was still wet. The setting matters in Princetown. The village sits in the shadow of the former Dartmoor Prison, which stands on Duchy land. William no longer personally receives the £1.5 million annual rent once generated by the abandoned prison, following a change announced earlier in 2026.
While William was in Devon, attention in California was on Harry's birthday. His wife Meghan Markle shared an Instagram tribute to mark him turning 42. She called him "simply the best" and "my love", in posts featuring multiple family photos, according to Yahoo and The Mirror.
The tribute included unseen images of their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as reported by HELLO!. William carried out his Princetown engagement solo and did not take part in Harry's birthday celebrations.
