Brooklyn Horror Film Festival sets 2026 lineup with Paris opener and Kick On closer
The Brooklyn Horror Film Festival has set its 2026 programme, opening with "I Love Paris" and closing with "Kick On", in a lineup exclusively revealed by Variety.
The festival will run from Oct. 15 to Oct. 22, according to the same report. That is eight days across two weekends and the weekdays between.
The opening night film is "I Love Paris", a 120-minute Australia-France production from 2026 directed by Nicky Murphy, as listed by Variety. Opening night is the slot that launches a festival. It plays first and sets the tone.
The centrepiece is "Species (Sanguine)", a 103-minute French film from 2026 directed by Marion Le Corroller. It is booked as a New York premiere, meaning its first screening in New York, Variety reported.
The closing night film is "Kick On", a 91-minute Australian film from 2026 directed by Nick Kozakis. It will also screen as a New York premiere, bringing the edition to an end on Oct. 22.
Screenings will be held at Nitehawk Cinema Williamsburg and Williamsburg Cinemas, according to the festival's badge information on its website. The badge page describes an eight-day event with a full weekend and weekday schedule.
The festival has presented domestic and international genre cinema in New York City since 2016. Genre cinema here means horror and related styles such as thriller, fantasy and science fiction. Its official website states that the 2026 lineup is now available.
The road to selection closed last month. The final deadline for short and feature submissions to the 2026 edition was Aug. 14, according to the festival's Facebook page.
