England hand debut to Aneurin Donald for Sri Lanka T20I opener
England have handed a debut to opener Aneurin Donald for the first T20 international against Sri Lanka in Southampton on 15 September 2026.
Play at the Utilita Bowl starts at 6.30pm, with England beginning a three-match T20 series that moves on to Cardiff and Manchester. Donald will open alongside Jos Buttler, who also keeps wicket, in a new-look top order. The Guardian
A T20 international is the shortest form of international cricket, with each side facing around 120 balls. Openers face the first deliveries, when only a handful of fielders are allowed outside the inner ring.
