Kevin Morby pairs new song PBJ with ice cream flavour and star cast video

Kevin Morby has released a new song titled “PBJ” alongside a peanut butter and jelly ice cream flavour of the same name.

The flavour was created in partnership with Van Leeuwen Ice Cream. It is available at the company’s locations nationwide. The food tie-in takes its name and idea straight from the song title. Pitchfork reported the release on 16 September 2026.

PBJ is shorthand for peanut butter and jelly, the sandwich combination that gives both the track and the scoop their name. That direct link makes the partnership simple to follow. Listeners hear the title on the record. Customers see it on the menu.

The recording is built around a small group of collaborators. Justin Vernon plays guitar on the track. Aaron Dessner plays both bass and guitar, covering melody and low end. Andrew Barr plays drums, holding the rhythm. Each credit was confirmed as part of the release announcement.
