Jefferson White to Return as Jimmy in 'Marshals' Season 2

Jimmy Hurdstrom is coming back.

Jefferson White will reprise his role as Jimmy in Season 2 of Marshals in a recurring role, meaning he appears in selected episodes rather than as a full-time regular. The casting keeps White inside the Yellowstone universe and places him alongside Luke Grimes, who stars in Marshals reprising his role as Kayce Dutton. Deadline

Season 2 premieres Sunday, Oct. 4 on CBS. It will stream on Paramount+ the day after its broadcast debut. The new season arrives quickly, after Marshals was renewed for Season 2 less than two weeks after its premiere. Variety

Marshals is a Yellowstone spin-off from Taylor Sheridan, a new series built from characters first seen in the earlier show. It follows Kayce Dutton as he joins a U.S. Marshals unit, the federal law-enforcement organisation, working to deliver justice in Montana. The series was developed by Spencer Hudnut, based on characters created by Sheridan and John Linson, with Hudnut serving as showrunner, the person who leads the writers and oversees day-to-day production. CBS first announced Marshals as part of its 2025-2026 lineup.

White portrayed Jimmy Hurdstrom in Yellowstone. His storyline there concluded with John Dutton giving him his blessing to return permanently to the 6666 Ranch in Texas. At the ranch, Jimmy builds a life as a cowboy and horse trainer.

Season 2 brings back several familiar faces around Kayce. Brecken Merrill appears as Tate Dutton, with Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater and Mo Brings Plenty as Mo. The wider cast includes Logan Marshall-Green, Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos and Tatanka Means.

Behind the camera, Marshals is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios. Its executive producers include Sheridan, David Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Grimes and Keith Cox.

Beyond the ranch, White starred in the films Civil War and The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. His upcoming credits include Rambo alongside Noah Centineo and November 1963.

For fans, this means a favourite bridge between two chapters of the story. Kayce traded cattle work for a badge. Jimmy chose horses and Texas. Seeing their paths cross again links the ranch past to the law-enforcement present, and gives viewers who followed Jimmy from the start a reason to tune in early in the broadcast season.
