Malcolm Todd's 'Earrings' climbs to No. 1 on August Gabb chart
Malcolm Todd's "Earrings" has taken No. 1 on the Top Gabb Music Songs chart for August 2026.
The song rose eight places to get there. It entered the survey at No. 9 in July and now claims its first week on top, according to Billboard.
The Top Gabb Music Songs chart is a monthly ranking presented by Billboard in partnership with Gabb Wireless. It launched in October 2024 and tracks on-demand streams on the Gabb Music platform, whose catalogue is selected by the Gabb team to include only kid- and teen-appropriate content. Streams on Gabb Music are not currently counted towards any other Billboard chart.
"Earrings" was originally released in 2024. It returned in 2026 through shortform video virality, which pushed it back into wider listening.
That wider listening includes the Billboard Hot 100, the weekly ranking of the most popular songs in the United States. "Earrings" reached No. 20 on that chart in August 2026. It has since moved to a new high of No. 19 on the September 19-dated Hot 100 tally.
At the top of the Gabb survey, Todd replaces Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean". That song had held No. 1 for the previous two months. Jackson still has three songs on the August 2026 survey, led by "Billie Jean" at No. 8.
Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas" is next. It climbed to a new peak of No. 2 for August. Olivia Rodrigo's "The Cure" sits at No. 4 on the same survey. "The Cure" debuted at No. 5 on the Hot 100 in June 2026.
Stella Lefty's "Boston" also moved up. It reached a new peak of No. 7 on the August Gabb chart after debuting at No. 21 in July. On the Hot 100, "Boston" reached a new peak of No. 2 in August 2026.
Two songs enter the August Gabb top 20 for the first time. Josiah Queen's "Sundays" starts at No. 19. Alyssa Grace's "Bloodstream" starts at No. 20.
Both debuts have companion chart moves. "Sundays" entered at No. 13 on Hot Christian Songs, Billboard's weekly ranking for Christian music, in August 2026. "Bloodstream" reached a new best of No. 45 on the Hot 100 in August 2026.
What makes this stand out is the mix. A two-year-old song revived online sits beside a country single, a pop single, catalogue soul-pop and two first-time entries, all inside one monthly list for younger listeners.
